Chicago, IL – Avondale residents and neighbors are invited to support the area’s only community organized festival at the A Day in Avondale Fundraiser. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 26th from 5pm to 8pm at Moe’s Tavern, 2937 N. Milwaukee Avenue.

The celebration will include drink specials, celebrity bartenders, raffle prizes, and a sampling of free food from area restaurants. Guest bartenders, including Author and Avondale Expert Dan Pogorzelski and State Senator Iris Y. Martinez, will compete for the title of “Best Celebrity Bartender” as determined by the amount of tips earned. The event will also mark the official unveiling of this year’s A Day in Avondale poster.

“Last year’s event was a great success,” said Maureen Clancy, owner of Moe’s Tavern. “This year we’re adding even more raffle prizes, celebrity bartenders, and a few other fun surprises. A Day in Avondale is an outstanding community event and Moe’s is happy to host the fundraiser and do our part to make the event rad, fab & fun!”

A $10 entrance donation is encouraged and can be made at the door or in advance here. All proceeds from the event, including celebrity bartender tips, will go toward funding artist grants and offsetting A Day in Avondale production costs. Last year’s fundraiser raised nearly $1,500. Organizers hope to raise $2,000 at this year’s event.
