The next Avondale Neighborhood Association meeting will be held on Monday, July 17th, 2017 at 7 pm at St. Hyacinth Basilica’s Resurrection Hall, just west of the main building at 3636 W. Wolfram, Chicago, IL 60618. Graffiti Action

Join us at Woodward Plaza on Saturday, May 20 at 10am for the annual Graffiti Action Day.  Using an environmentally safe, tea tree oil based product, we will remove graffiti from non-porous surfaces along Milwaukee Avenue.  Supplies and graffiti removal product are provided for volunteers.Read more

Avondale School Forum

Want to learn more about your K-12 local school options in the Avondale area? We are organizing local schools in a conference style format so that parents can meet staff, compare information and talk with parents at the school. Current participation includes; Reilly Elementary, Carl Von Linne Elementary, Brentano Elementary and Schurz High School. We are still recruiting Scammond, Avondale-Logandale, Murphy, Darwin and Monroe. Avondale Service Social

Join the Avondale Neighborhood Association in partnership with Concordia Church on Belmont for the 2nd Annual Service Social Event. This free event is family-friendly and open to the entire community.  We will make greeting cards and spring placemats for Avondale residents at St Joseph Village and the Milwaukee Apartments.   The event starts at 11am.  Bring a basket for the toy and candy-filled egg hunt, meet Avondale neighbors, and give back to our community.Read more

Paint with a Purpose

The intersection of Kedzie and Belmont lies in the center of our community, but it also divides us. It is plagued with many challenges for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers that limit people crossing it. Paint with a Purpose is a fundraiser to produce a series of murals at the intersection to not just beautify the area, but also draw positive attention to this central crossing in Avondale. Clean & Green

The Avondale Neighborhood Association is partnering with Concordia Church on Whipple to host the annual Clean and Green on Saturday, April 22.  Community members are invited to gather for coffee and snacks at the Annex building located at 3300 N Whipple beginning at 9:30am.  Groups of people will go out to different areas of Avondale to clean from 10:00am-Noon.  At noon everyone is invited to gather back at the Annex for a post clean-up celebration.  If you would like to meet new neighbors and make a difference in our community, join us for this event.…Read more
